Tony Chase Chairman & CEO
Tony Chase is Chairman & CEO of ChaseSource, LP. He grew up attending Houston public schools. Tony received a Stouffer scholarship for the purpose of integrating elite private schools and attended Episcopal High School in Virginia. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College, received a law degree from Harvard Law School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Tony is an entrepreneur. He started & sold three ventures and now owns & operates a fourth. The first was Chase Radio Partners that owned seven radio stations and was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 1998. The second was Cricket Wireless, a nationwide cell phone service provider that he started together with Qualcomm in 1993. The third was ChaseCom, a company that built and operated call centers around the world, which he sold to AT&T Corporation in 2007. Currently, Tony owns ChaseSource LP, a staffing and real estate development and construction firm. ChaseSource LP is presently ranked by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the nation’s largest minority owned companies.
Tony also is an owner of the Marriott Hotel at George Bush InterContinental Airport in Houston. Mr. Chase currently serves on the Boards of Anadarko (NYSE), Paragon Offshore (NYSE), and The Plaza Group. Non-profit board memberships include Houston Endowment, Greater Houston Partnership, University of Texas School of Architecture Dean’s Advisory Council, Texas Medical Center, MD Anderson Board of Visitors, St. John’s School Board of Trustees, Houston Zoo Development, Foreign Affairs Museum Council and KIPP Schools. He has also served as Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas as well as Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is an Eagle Scout.
Professor Chase is a tenured Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center, where he began teaching in 1990 and was awarded tenure in 1995. He teaches several courses including Contracts, Entrepreneurship, Communications Law and Race & American Law.
Mr. Chase is the recipient of many awards including the American Jewish Committee’s 2016 Human Relations Award, Houston Technology Center’s 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year, 2013 Mickey Leland Humanitarian Award (NAACP), 2013 Bob Onstead Leadership Award (GHP) and the 2012 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award. He also received Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Pinnacle Award (Bank of America) and the Baker Faculty Award (UH Law Center).
Tony & his wife Dina have three children.
Stephanie Sawyer CFO
As Chief Financial Officer, Stephanie Sawyer is charged with setting the financial direction for ChaseSource, LP and its subsidiaries and is responsible for finance, accounting, facilities, legal, and treasury management. Miss Sawyer possesses over thirty years of broad business experience with expertise in technology, software, distribution, manufacturing, service industries, banking and construction. Her expertise includes all CFO responsibilities including financial operations, business planning, mergers and acquisitions, financial turnarounds, and new business start-ups. She has worked with a wide range of organizations, from start-up entrepreneurial organizations to large, multi-location organizations within other industries. She has a significant background in financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, business development and human resources. Miss Sawyer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Lamar University as well as her CPA.
Stephanie is very active in her church and community and serves on the board of her neighborhood. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 2 miniature dachshunds and grandson.
